The company's "Plant & Project" initiative is a commendable effort undertaken in collaboration with "Care the Wild" partners, including TCMC, the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the Royal Forest Department, and local communities. This long-term project will span 10 years, with tree-planting activities taking place in different locations across Thailand.
In the first year, TCMC employees joined forces with the community in Nakhon Ratchasima province to plant 3,000 trees on 15 rai of land. The second year saw similar efforts in Chainat province, where 2,000 trees were planted on 10 rai. This brings the total to an impressive 5,000 trees and 25 rai dedicated to reforestation.
The company also supports these efforts by providing communities with fertilizer made from bio-sludge from its wastewater treatment system, ensuring the healthy growth of the newly planted trees.
Beyond its CSR benefits, this initiative highlights the important connection between humans and nature, fostering a sense of unity and shared responsibility for the environment. It's an opportunity for employees and communities to work together towards a common goal, learning and growing along the way.
The "Plant & Project" initiative will also contribute to carbon credit accumulation, supporting the company's journey towards achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. This demonstrates a commitment to sustainability and exemplifies how positive action can create a lasting impact.
