Zero to Hero
TCM's Carbon Reduction Mission
Be a Hero: Reduce Carbon, Build a Sustainable World

Our planet is in crisis. Global warming threatens the very future of our world, and every action counts. At TCM, we believe change begins with us.

Join the Zero to Hero mission: a vital initiative to combat greenhouse gas emissions. Become a hero today.  Start small, make a big impact.

The objectives of this project are:
To raise awareness, encourage participation, reduce the organization's carbon footprint, and foster a culture of sustainability.
Zero to Hero
TCM’s Carbon Footprint Mission: Every Action Counts

This initiative aims to raise awareness about global warming and climate change and encourage employees to participate in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. By making small changes in their daily lives and work habits, employees can contribute to a significant collective impact. This program also aims to cultivate values and a culture within the organization that prioritizes environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Activity Details:
  • Education: Employees will learn about global warming and climate change through videos, morning talks, and various events.
  • Idea Sharing and Action: Employees will share ideas for behavioral changes in their daily lives and work that can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They will earn points and redeem rewards under the concept of "How can you save the world from global warming?

TCM Say No to Plastic

This initiative aims to engage employees in reducing plastic use both within the organization and in their personal lives.  The use of plastic bags and non-biodegradable products contributes significantly to waste that takes hundreds of years to decompose, a major contributor to global warming and climate change.

Activity Details:
  • Plastic-Free Wednesdays and Fridays: Employees will collectively refrain from using plastic on Wednesdays and Fridays every week.
  • Refuse Plastic, Earn Rewards: Employees will earn points for refusing plastic, which they can redeem for rewards.
  • Plastic Bottle Collection: Employees will collect plastic water bottles for delivery to schools, supporting their fundraising efforts to provide lunch for students.

Waste separation project

This project underscores our commitment to responsible waste management and its positive environmental impact. We aim to educate our employees and stakeholders about the critical importance of proper waste disposal and the detrimental effects of landfills. Landfills are a significant source of methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2), both greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change. Furthermore, leachate from decomposing waste can contaminate soil and groundwater, threatening drinking water and ecosystems. The creation of landfill space also destroys habitats and reduces biodiversity.

Our project promotes resource efficiency and a greener community, both within our organization and beyond.

Project Activities:
  • Waste Sorting Education: We provide training for our employees and the wider community on effective waste sorting techniques.
  • Waste Separation System: We've implemented a clear and user-friendly waste separation system throughout our organization. Color-coded bins and tags make it easy to sort waste into the following categories:
    • Recyclable Waste (Yellow)
    • General Waste (Blue)
    • Organic Waste (Green)
    • Hazardous Waste (Red)
  • Recycling Initiatives: We actively participate in recycling programs:
    • UHT milk cartons, aluminum, and clean stretchable plastic are collected and recycled through the "Community Waste Management Project" in partnership with Bang Khu Wat Municipality.
    • Glass bottles, plastic bottles, and aluminum beverage cans are collected and sold. The proceeds support student lunch funds at Ban Khlong Chao Mueang School through our "Waste Bank Project."

Energy conservation project

This project encourages employee involvement in efficient energy usage, resulting in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel energy production (including oil and coal). It also advocates for the use of renewable energy and backs the transition to clean energy within the organization.

Activity Details:
  • Energy Conservation Team & Training: A dedicated energy conservation team will be formed, providing employees with training on how to use energy efficiently.
  • Turn Off Campaign: This campaign will motivate employees to power down lights and electrical devices when they're not in use, particularly during lunch breaks, after hours, and in spaces not used for long periods, such as meeting rooms and common areas.
  • Energy-Efficient Technology: The organization will transition to energy-efficient technologies, including LED lighting, energy-saving air conditioners, and office equipment with Energy Star certifications to cut electricity usage.
  • Targeted Lighting Control: Conventional light switches controlling large groups of lights will be replaced with individual pull-chain switches, minimizing unnecessary energy consumption in specific locations.
  • Solar Rooftop Project: A solar energy generation system will be installed on the roof. This significant initiative will allow the organization to harness clean energy, lower electricity expenses, and support environmental conservation efforts. It represents a critical advancement toward sustainability and showcases the organization's commitment to green energy.
"Join Zero Hero and become a hero in the fight against global warming. A sustainable future begins with each of our actions. Join us today to be a champion for a better tomorrow."
